KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Comstock Township Deputy Fire Chief Michael Dyer has been charged with operating while intoxicated causing serious injury.
The 63-year-old hit and injured an eleven-year-old girl around midnight on June 22nd along East H Avenue near Berry Street when he was heading home from the bar.
She suffered a fractured hand and had to have a steel plate and screws connected to one of her knees.
Dyer told Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies that he had been drinking and knew he would fail the sobriety test.
