AUDIO: Holtec International holds open house on Palisades nuclear plant refiring

BENTON HARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Holtec International officials say they are on target to refire the Palisades nuclear power plant before the end of 2025 in Covert Township.

Senior manager of government and communications Nick Culp says they are “showing the world that the U.S. is truly a leader when it comes to nuclear energy.”

They held an open house last night in Benton Harbor to get comments and concerns from people.

Ken Priest supports refiring the plant.

Ali Tamposi Campolo just moved to a home nearby the plant and does not want it to be turned back on.

Palisades has been idle since the spring of 2022. It would become the first nuclear plant to restart in the United States.
