BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Calhoun County first responders have a new radio system that officials say will be a big improvement from what they had been using.
Police, fire, and EMS can now more easily communicate with the radios as agencies had been using systems that Emmett Township Public Safety Lieutenant Tony Geigle says weren’t compatible.
Audio PlayerThe $18-million system is funded by a millage approved by voters in 2022.
Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch Authority executive director Michael Armitage says the system is built to last for decades.
