BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB)- Last night’s severe storms that swept through the area produced at least two tornadoes.
The National Weather Service Office in Grand Rapids has confirmed two tornadoes touched down near the Battle Creek area, one of which had peak winds around 80 mph. Both tornadoes were classified EF-0.
- EF- 0 Touched down near St. Marys Lake, north of Battle Creek (east of the Bedford area)

The NWS will continue surveying multiple locations through the weekend and say more tornadoes could still be confirmed from the severe weather that left over 200,000 people without power and damaged homes and buildings as well as uprooted trees.
There have now been 15 confirmed tornadoes in Michigan this spring. In a normal year the state sees on average 13 tornadoes, with the most active months being May and June.
