PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The mayors of Portage and Kalamazoo will lead a three-mile bicycle tour at Eliason Nature Preserve at 1614 West Osterhout Avenue to start Kalamazoo Bike Week on Saturday.
The 2025 Mayor’s Ride will start at 10 a.m. and will go 1.5 miles on the trail to the north end of the nature reserve, and then turn around and come back.
The ride is free and will happen regardless of what the weather does, unless there is thunder and lightning. No registration is required.
The Mayor’s Ride is a symbol of the commitment made by the cities of Kalamazoo and Portage to health, the environment, nature, and the opportunities for safe, non-motorized transportation options.
Portage Mayor Patricia Randall and Kalamazoo Mayor David Anderson are looking forward to celebrating Bike Week from May 10th through the 17th.
