EAST LANSING, MI — There will be lots of photo shoots at the Sparty statue on campus at Michigan State University this week. It’s graduation week for thousands of graduates as they cross the stage and receive their diplomas.
MSU officials say more than 10,000 students in baccalaureate, masters, doctoral and professional programs at the school plan to graduate, with events beginning Friday at the Breslin Student Events Center and the Wharton Center for Performing Arts.
Undergrads will walk on Sunday May 4 at 12:30 p.m. at the Breslin Center. Meanwhile, the ceremony for advanced degrees is set for Friday May 2 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Breslin Center. All ceremonies will be live-streamed at www.msu.edu.
Various colleges will also have their individual ceremonies through the weekend. Here’s a look at the schedule:
- Veterinary Nursing: 12:30 p.m. on May 2 at the Wharton Center
- Communication Arts and Sciences: 7 p.m. on May 2 at the Breslin Center
- Social Science: 8:30 a.m. on May 3 at the Breslin Center
- Nursing: 9 a.m. on May 3 at the Wharton Center
- Natural Science: 12:30 p.m. on May 3 at the Breslin Center
- James Madison College: 12:30 p.m. on May 3 at the Wharton Center
- Eli Broad College of Business: 4 p.m. on May 3 at the Breslin Center
- Music: 4 p.m. on May 3 at the Wharton Center
- Residential Arts and Humanities: 7 p.m. on May 3 at the Wharton Center
- Agriculture and Natural Resources: 7:30 p.m. on May 3 at the Breslin Center
- Arts and Letters: 8:30 a.m. on May 4 at the Breslin Center
- Lyman Briggs College: 11:30 a.m. on May 4 at the Breslin Center
- Engineering: 2 p.m. on May 4 at the Breslin Center
