UNION CITY, MI (WTVB)- The Quincy Middle School track team had a strong showing at the Union City Track Invitational held on Thursday. Perfect weather and sunny skies finally made for great conditions for a day competition. The Orioles ran well and showed great energy.
Thirteen total schools competed at the invite. Our Quincy girls team came home with 3rd place and the boys team with 9th. The invite medaled for places 1-5. The following athletes brought home hardware.
Individual events
Derek Poore, 2nd in the 70m
Nathan Dunn, 4th in the 2 mile
Dylan Musser, 3rd in the 55H; 5th in the 200H; 3rd in long jump
Riley Myers, 2nd in the 70m; 1st in the 200m; 1st in long jump
Bailey Porter, 3rd in the 400m
Alexis Reif, 4th in the 800m; 2nd in the 1 mile, 5th in the 2 mile
Mackenzie Sattison, 2nd in the pole vault

Girls 4×400 placed 2nd with a team of Bailey Porter, Lauren Tappenden, Gracin Hemker, and Mackenzie Sattison
The Orioles will look to carry this momentum into their next meet as they continue to build on a promising season at their first home meet of the year with a tri verse Reading and Union City on Tuesday the 29th. Start time, 4:30.
