GAYLORD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Damage assessments are underway in northern Michigan by federal, state, and local officials.
The ice storm that hit the northern part of the Lower Peninsula and the eastern Upper Peninsula in March knocked out power for thousands of people and businesses.
The results of the damage assessments will be used by the state to determine if a presidential disaster declaration will be requested.
If that is declared, federal aid will be available.
