BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek Police says a fight led to a stabbing early Thursday morning.
The fight and stabbing happened in the 40th block of South 23rd Street.
The victim, a 20-year-old male, attempted to self-transport to Battle Creek Bronson but was intercepted by LifeCare Ambulance downtown. He was then transported to Battle Creek Bronson for stabilization where he was listed in critical condition.
A 22-year-old male suspect is in custody and will be lodged at the Calhoun County Jail for assault with intent to commit murder, pending arraignment.

This article is confusing. S. 23rd Street is not in downtown Battle Creek, and it doesn’t have a 40th block. Reading this, I wonder if it’s even the right city!
