KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -After setting new records with both teams registered and audience attendance in 2024, the Kazoo 48 Hour Film Festival is returning this weekend.
Organizers say the event is designed to introduce people to filmmaking while uniting and challenging cinema enthusiasts. Each team has 48 hours to complete a one to six minute short film. Once complete, the films will be judged in their in amateur and professional categories by a group of local talent, with prizes awarded for best use of assigned items and an engraved gold kazoo for the Best Films.
The contest begins this Friday, April 4 at 6:00 p.m., with the submission deadline Sunday, April 6 at 6:00 p.m.
Select finished products will be showcased in a screening at the Kalamazoo 10 theater April 24.
