KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo County Sheriff Rick Fuller says the deputy who shot and killed a dog Monday afternoon in a Comstock Township parking lot did the right thing.
Fuller says the dog was attacking the deputy at the Menards on Gull Road when the officer was questioning the driver of an SUV for having a stolen license plate.

The driver exited the SUV holding a pizza box instead of controlling the dog, who was shot and killed seconds later.
The SUV driver was arrested for having stolen property, the incident with the dog, and having a suspended license.
