FARGO, ND (WKZO AM/FM) – After collecting 30 wins and winning both the regular season and tournament titles in the NCHC, the Western Michigan University men’s hockey team will be a one seed in the NCAA Tournament in the Fargo Regional.
The Broncos will square off with Minnesota State Thursday, March 27 at Scheels Arena. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m., with live coverage on 106.5 Jack FM.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams.
Minnesota and UMASS will play in the other regional semifinal. The two winners will meet up Saturday, March 29.
WMU has now made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, which is a program record.
The Broncos are ranked No. 3 in both the USCHO and USA Hockey/The Rink Live polls. WMU secured six total first-place votes this week, five from the USCHO poll and one from the USA Hockey poll. Western Michigan leads the nation with 30 wins heading into the big dance.
