CASSOPOLIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, and Cassopolis police arrested two people Monday afternoon in Cassopolis for allegedly stealing several firearms.
Eighteen-year-old Jacob Morrison of Cassopolis and a 17-year-old male were arrested for allegedly stealing the weapons from Hayden’s Hardware Store in Cassopolis in January.
Morrison is charged with possession of the stolen firearms. The younger man was also charged with breaking and entering along with possessing the stolen firearms and was released to his parent.
The case remains under investigation.
The two were stopped by police in a parking lot on School Street around 3 p.m. as detectives had received tips they had the weapons. The guns were seized in the traffic stop.
