KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – With negotiations at an impasse, a strike is looming for residents at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine
Resident and Fellow Alliance, the union representing the group has submitted notice that they are striking March 31 and April 1, 2025.
They say negotiations have not moved significantly, and in a social media post, the union was critical of the most recent offer received.
“Management gave us the same salary offer from more than 105 days ago (Wednesday). Their big ‘offer’ is to take away our retirement and give us $1,500/yr as meal and cell phone stipend. This is not a real offer. We demand a fair contract now!”
A strike strike authorization vote was held earlier this month, with the union saying more than 90% of those who voted were in favor of the strike.ial media.
WMed said despite the upcoming strike, health locations will stay open.
