KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Public Schools administrators will be holding sessions in all 25 of their schools buildings over the next month and a half to present their proposed strategic plan.
Those sessions begin today.
The strategic plan will set the major goals for the district over the next few years, the priorities they will pursue, and the achievements they hope to secure.
“Because every district should have a strategic plan we haven’t had one for a while so I thought it was important to bring that back to the district,” says superintendent Dr. Darrin Slade, who also says he wants to hear from parents and staff.
“For me mainly it will be establishing some goals in terms of student achievement, goals in terms of our community engagement, different goals related to finance.”
Sessions today will be held at Maple Street Magnet at 4:00 p.m. and King Westwood Elementary at 5:30 p.m. Three meetings will be held Wednesday.
A session will be held Tuesday at Phoenix High School at 4:00 p.m.
A complete schedule of all the school sessions is available at the district website.
