AUDIO: Kalamazoo Public Schools board vice president believes Trump violated US Constitution with EO

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – President Donald Trump has began efforts to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education, and one local school official called for public help to oppose the plan.

Trump was waiting for his appointee Linda McMahon to clear congressional approval before issuing the executive order to begin the process.

Kalamazoo Public Schools board vice president Carol McGlinn says she believes the action is clearly unconstitutional.

She says they depend on the federal government to provide funding for some of their most vulnerable students.

McGlinn says people who support public education should let Washington know how they feel.

McGlinn says the funding isn’t in jeopardy yet, but she is concerned it could be headed in that direction.
