STURGIS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A male riding a skateboard on M-66 in St. Joseph County’s Sturgis Township was struck and killed by a pick-up truck early Thursday morning.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office says at 3:22 a.m., deputies responded to the area of M-66 and Bogen Road in Sturgis Township for a personal injury accident involving a pedestrian.
They say the male subject was traveling on M-66 on a skateboard when a Ford F-150 traveling southbound struck the pedestrian.
When deputies arrived on scene, they located the pedestrian severely injured. After lifesaving attempts, the man was pronounced deceased on scene.
The names of the driver and victim are being withheld, pending the investigation.
