Man injures self during foot chase with police in Portage

PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Portage Public Safety says a man has been injured in a foot chase with officers and a K-9.

Public Safety Director Nick Armold says the man had a knife visible to police during the chase and likely injured himself with it.

The man may have fallen on the knife before he was taken to the hospital.

His name has not been released and Armold did not say on which felony warrants he was wanted.
