KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Ground will be broken on Wednesday, March 26 on The Legacy Senior Living in Kalamazoo’s Northside neighborhood.
Southwest Michigan First and Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Edison Community Partners, Abonmarche Byce and AVB are celebrating the groundbreaking for the 70-unit affordable housing development for people 55 and older.
It will happen between 3 and 4 p.m. at the corner of Frank and Burdick streets.
The Legacy Senior Living represents a $27 million investment in the community made possible through funding from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, the Kalamazoo County Homes for All millage, the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, the city of Kalamazoo, and other key partners.
The homes will be available to people earning between 20 and 80% of the Area Median Income.
