LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Majority Republicans in the Michigan House have unveiled their plan to fund fixing roads in the state without raising taxes.
House Speaker Matt Hall says all of the money collected in fuel taxes will go to roads, which is the same as Governor Whitmer is proposing. The GOP plan would replace money for the School Aid Fund that currently comes from fuel taxes from somewhere else, but Hall did not specify where.
The plan from Republicans would take $1-billion from economic development and incentives, while the governor’s plan would tax corporations for road funding.
