BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek’s Federal Center is included on a list of hundreds of buildings owned by the federal government that could be sold.
The Trump administration released a list of “non-core property,” which are sites the government says is not essential to operations, on the General Services Administration’s website.
The Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center in Battle Creek is among around two dozen such sites in Michigan on the list.
Interim Battle Creek City Manager Ted Dearing says it’s not yet clear how the community would be affected by the closure and sale of the building.
The Federal Center is 122-years-old and houses the Defense Logistics Agency and Department of Homeland Security.
