CONVIS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 48-year-old man from Clio has been found by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office after he had exited his vehicle on a drive home from Mississippi.
Deputies found his 47-year-old girlfriend from Houghton Lake waiting in the vehicle at the dead end of Q Drive North just before 9:30 Monday night in Convis Township, and she said he stopped to take a break and was likely lost in the surrounding woods.
Battle Creek police helped with a drone search and within 10 minutes of using the drone, they found him lying in tall grass about 250 yards north of the vehicle.
He was taken to Oaklawn Hospital to be evaluated.
The sheriff’s office says the help of Battle Creek police with their drone was “critical” in finding the man in 30-degree weather.
