LANSING, MI — Lansing Schools superintendent Ben Shuldiner is still hoping to leave Lansing for Las Vegas a much bigger job with Clark County Schools.
A report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal says Shuldiner has advanced to the next round of interviews to lead the Las Vegas-based school district. Shuldiner has been selected as one of three finalists for the open position. The school board on Tuesday advanced Shuldiner to the next round in a 6 to 1 vote.
Shuldiner will now be scheduled for community forum and be debriefed by the Clark County School Board, according to the report. The process starts on March 10. A final decision could come by mid-March. More than 40 candidates applied for the position to lead
Clark County schools encompasses all of Las Vegas and several surrounding areas and has about 300,000 students, according to the Nevada Department of Education. The Lansing school district has about 11,000 students.
