KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Public Schools will kick-off their celebration of March as National Reading Month with their annual Literacy Nights this week.
The elementary school Literacy Night will be today. The middle school Literacy Night will be Thursday.
Each school chooses a theme to explore the joys of reading and learning through family-friendly hands-on activities. This year some of the themes include carnival games, STEAM education, Black History in Michigan, superheroes and magic.
National Reading Month is celebrated in March to encourage reading and literacy activities for all ages. The month is celebrated in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday March 2.
