COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Housing zones will be allowed to be smaller in Comstock Township.
The township board approved the zoning changes Monday night by a 4-3 vote, reducing the minimum lot size to 6,000 square feet.
The minimum lot size had been between 6,600 and 8,500 square feet before the vote.
The township board also changed the minimum lot width to 60 feet and raised the height of buildings from 20 feet to 30 feet for R1C cluster housing.
The changes had been proposed by Matt Watts of Watts Development, but there was strong opposition from the township planning commission.
