Authorities say woman whose body was found in a vacant Portage office building died of natural causes

PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Portage Department of Public Safety says the Plainwell woman whose body was found in a vacant office building last September died of natural causes.

25-year-old Destiny Naigus was found in the vestibule of the building in the 200 block of Admiral Avenue after officers responded to a property check September 30. She wasn’t identified until October 3, 2024.

Monday the Kalamazoo County Medical Examiner’s Office announced Naigus died of natural causes. She was believed to have been in the Portage area for several weeks prior to her death.
