KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Public Schools has recognized one of their stand-out students, a senior at Kalamazoo Central High School, who has made her mark.
Maggie Spybrook is holding down a 3.99 GPA as she spends part of her day at Central and the other part at the Math and Science Center. But that’s not the only reason why she was applauded last Thursday night. It was because she has been named The Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Region 6 Swimmer of the Year for the third time.
Athletic Director and Assistant Principal Greg Straka says as a swimmer, she holds several school records and set 22 personal records this year.
Straka says she has been an unselfish and giving team leader who will be missed.
Next year she will be swimming for the University of Toledo,
