LANSING, MI – A dispute with Lansing Mall management is causing a Lansing non-profit store that provides free essentials to thousands of needy people to close at the end of March.
The Fretail store, which gives away clothes, diapers and other vital items, offers those in need what they need, no questions asked.
“No matter who you are, you have value here and we welcome everyone,” said Mike Karl, the founder and Founder and President of Fretail, told media partner 6 News WLNS in Lansing. “I’m formerly homeless, I lived on the streets… I went to shelters that I had to pray to eat, and I didn’t eat. but here—there’s no questions asked.”
Karl also operates local non-profits Cardboard Prophets and Capital Area Diaper Bank. Karl told WLNS he is searching for a new location for the Fretail store.
