ATHENS TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has released details of a single-vehicle crash that took place Wednesday night near M Drive South and 2 Mile Road in Calhoun County’s Athens Township.
They say a 52-year-old Athens Township resident was traveling west on M Drive South at about 10:13 p.m. when their vehicle left the road and struck a tree.
A passenger sustained serious injuries and was taken by LifeCare EMS to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, where at last report they were in stable condition.
The driver was taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital for further medical evaluation.
The names of the injured persons were not released and the crash is still under investigation.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Police Department, the Athens Township Fire Department, LifeCare EMS, and the Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch Authority.
