LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan House Speaker Matt Hall says bills that have been passed by the state Senate to expand the Freedom of Information Act will not get a vote in the House.
The FOIA expansion would cover the governor’s office and the Legislature, but the Richland Republican says the Senate bills are “watered down” and approving them is a “very low priority.”
The bills were also passed by the Senate last July but also were not brought up last year in the then-Democratic majority House.
