HARTFORD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 10 mile stretch of eastbound I-94 between Hartford and Lawrence was shut down for hours Tuesday after a chain reaction of crashes that involved six semi-trucks.
Michigan State Police say the first crash happened around 9:30 a.m. when three semis crashed. That led to seven more crashes and five slide-offs.
There were no serious injuries, but in all, six semis and 10 passengers cars were involved.
Eastbound I-94 reopened just after 2:00 p.m.
The pile-up was part of a series of weather related crashes around west and southwest Michigan Tuesday due to lake effect snow.
