KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – God’s Kitchen of Michigan and Broncos Kitchen are co-hosting a free Martin Luther King Jr. Day dinner on Monday.
The two nonprofit hunger relief charities will serve the meal from 5 to 6 p.m. at Kanley Chapel on the Western Michigan University campus, located at 1903 West Michigan Avenue in Kalamazoo.
The menu will consist of fried chicken, barbecue ribs, a veggie dish, macaroni & cheese, collard greens, blackeye peas, cornbread, yams, dessert, and bottled water. Dinner is open to the general public. College student identification is not required to participate in this holiday meal. Limit one dinner per person.
Sponsors include Baptism USA Ministries, Seelye Auto Group, Mike and Sharon Seelye Family Foundation, God’s Kitchen of Michigan, Broncos Kitchen Foundation, Michigan Nonprofit Relief Fund, and Stan and Kim Hoeksema Qualls.
God’s Kitchen of Michigan is a private nonprofit corporation that serves free dinners for Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, and Portage citizens. There are no income, identification, or religious requirements to participate.
Broncos Kitchen is a private nonprofit corporation based in Kalamazoo. We provide free dinners on Mondays and Thursdays to enrolled Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, and Kalamazoo Valley Community College students and their immediate families.
All meals are served on a first-come, first-served basis.
