ALMENA TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources stocked 9.7 million fish in the state’s waters in 2024.
The DNR says it’s a little less than 2023, when they released over 10.4 million fish.
Seven different species were stocked during the fall, with the Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery near Kalamazoo stocking over 300,000 fall fingerling steelhead in three locations in the state along with nearly 1,600 Great Lakes strain muskellunge fall fingerlings in five locations
