UPDATE: The City of Lansing has extended the “Code Blue” warning until 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning.
LANSING, MI — The cold weather is forcing the City of Lansing to extend its “Code Blue” warning through Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 6:00 p.m., according to city officials.
The city says its Code Blue allows local shelters to temporarily increase capacity and extend hours if necessary.
In addition, the Capital Area Transportation Authority says it will provide free rides to warming shelters for those in need. If you need immediate shelter, you can call 211.
