LANSING, MI — Ryan Kost is the new Lansing City Council president and Tamera Carter its vice president. Both Kost and Carter’s terms on the council will end in 2027.
“I’m a hit-the-ground-running kind of guy, I’ve already had a conversation with the Vice President and she’s a hit-the-ground-running type of person so no disruption is what you’ll see and you’ll continue seeing me out in the community being aggressive and fighting for every citizen in this city,” said Kost told WILX TV in Lansing.
The Lansing City Council is comprised of 8 members, 4 At-Large and 4 Ward Council members. Elections are held every odd year, consisting of 2 At-Large and 2 Ward members, each time, according to the city’s website. Other current council members include former vice president Adam Hussain, Peter Spadafore, Brian Jackson, Jeffrey Brown, Jeremy Garza and Trini Pehlivanoglu.
