HASINGTS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The owners of Yankee Bill’s Wood-Fired Saloon in Hastings are planning to rebuild after a fire December 23 of last year destroyed the business.
Kristina Porritt owns the business and says the fire started in a new addition to the restaurant.
Staff tried to put out the flames and went through two fire extinguishers, but were unable.
Porritt says she and her 30 employees have been out of work since then but says the community has rallied to support them with several fundraisers being held and an account called Yankee Bill’s Staff opened up at Hastings City Bank for donations.
She is planning to save some of the old restaurant for the new facility. It will take at least a year for the new Yankee Bill’s to be built, but Porritt wants to have something up and running by this summer.
