SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – South Haven will hire consultants to help the city develop a new lifeguard program.
City Manager Kate Hosier says staff reviewed proposals from eight consulting groups and many of them worked off of United States Lifeguard Association standards.
The consultant will be paid ten-thousand-dollars, but Hosier says there is no guarantee the city will hire lifeguards for its beaches.
Lifeguards have not been on South Haven beaches for over 20 years and the consultant group’s report is due around March.
