KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The 20th annual Operation Scribble is set to happen from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday at Breakfast at Tiffiny’s on West Main Street in Kalamazoo.
Operation Scribble was started by Bronson Children’s Hospital’s Dr. Michael Leinwand when he was in Los Angeles and his then five and six-year-old kids got the idea to donate items to the children that couldn’t go home for the holidays.
That was our Production Director and 106.5 Jack FM Brand Manager Stefani Bishop, who will be at the event Monday, speaking with WKZO Mornings with Ken Lanphear.
They needed to rent a truck to give their first donation to the hospital.
Leinwand has continued it, and Operation Scribble will collect toys, puzzles, games, baby blankets, books, stuffed animals and more.
Cash donations are also welcomed as the patients at Bronson Children’s Hospital also include teenagers who might not want a toy or a coloring book.
