KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – U.S. Senator Gary Peters of Michigan is urging the Senate to pass his bipartisan legislation to address the growing safety threat from drones.
Peters joined WKZO Kalamazoo Mornings with Ken Lanphear to discuss the bill.
Peters says unmanned aircraft have become a big safety issue for the league.
The bill would provide state and local law enforcement agencies with the authority to use technology to help identify and mitigate urgent drone threats, including the recently reported drone sightings across the country.
Peters’ bill would ensure law enforcement is better prepared to defend against maliciously or recklessly operated drones.
