COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan State Police are not saying when they will be finished with the investigation into last week’s icy road crash that wrecked a couple of fire trucks, and injured two Comstock Township firefighters.
The firefighters suffered minor injuries when they dove out of the way of a box truck last week along I-94 in Kalamazoo County.
Assistant Comstock Township Fire Chief Kevin Thompson says it was frightening.
State police say they will turn their investigation over to local prosecutors when they are done.
It’s not clear what the charges may be.
Thompson has advice for people when the weather gets rotten.
The firefighters and a Kalamazoo County deputy were on the side of I-94 near Sprinkle Road during last week’s snow to help clean-up an earlier wreck.
That’s when they say the box truck driver lost control, and crashed into them.
