BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A second teenager has pled guilty to an open murder charge in the death of Battle Creek Central High School senior Jack Snyder in February 2023.
15-year-old Justice Chimner entered the guilty plea on Thursday and the judge agreed to sentence him to between 35 and 60 years in prison when he is sentenced in 2025.
Chimner was 14 when Snyder offered him and then-13-year-old Dewond Estes III a ride home.
The two younger teens then tried to carjack Snyder and a shot went off from Chimner’s gun. He admitted to pulling the trigger.
Estes pled guilty in October to carjacking and will be sentenced January 6.
He admitted that he talked to someone on Snapchat with the username “Spaz” about stealing a car for money before Snyder was killed, but that person has not yet been arrested.
