GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Mark Totten has announced that 27-year-old Andrew Curtis Williams of Westland, Michigan, was sentenced to 110 months in federal prison for his role in two separate offenses related to the February 2020 armed robbery of Albion Hydroponics.
According to court documents, Williams admitted last August to being part of a conspiracy to rob Albion Hydroponics. He also admitted to the separate offense of brandishing a firearm while committing the robbery.
A gun was used to physically assault a store employee at the gardening supply business on North Eaton Street. The employee was then placed in restraints in a bathroom before the suspects fled.
28-year-old co-defendant Kyle Lynn Carson of Jackson admitted to using a firearm to strike the victim and was sentenced to 60 months in prison for his role.
