LANSING, MI — The United States Marine Corps and Salvation Army Capital Region are readying to begin distribution efforts this holiday season. Applications for the Christmas Assistance have been received for nearly 9,000 people, which reflects 2,399 families and nearly 5,000 children, all who will be receiving toys and food.
Nearly 500 toy collection boxes have been placed across mid-Michigan, according to officials. Distribution of toys and food will begin later this week.
