PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Portage Northern High School will present a record-breaking donation to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital on Friday.
Students will present a check for more than $45,000 from this year’s Breadlift fundraiser that was raised for pediatric heart transplants in honor of Portage Central student Jenna Howard, who died last year.
Northern students broke their all-time record by raising $30,129.87.
Portage Central High School students raised $14,414, and students from Gull Lake High School raised just over $1,317.
Students from both Northern and Central will attend the check presentation Friday.
Breadlift began in 1966 by a group of Portage Northern High students.
