AUDIO: Wayland residents upset by planned power outage this weekend

WAYLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Power will be cut in Wayland this weekend.

Consumers Energy says from 11 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday, they are cutting the power for the Windsor Woods Village mobile home community.

Spokesman Brian Wheeler defends their decision.

The utility is making repairs to a nearby substation.

Windsor Woods Village resident Carol Palmatter has questions for Consumers Energy.

The city of Wayland has a warming shelter available at the fire station during the outage, but residents are leery of going there to sleep.
