KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The NCAA unveiled the bracket for the 2024 NCAA Volleyball Championship Sunday evening, with Western Michigan drawing a first-round matchup against No. 4 seed Purdue, who will host first and second round matches in West Lafayette, Ind.
This marks the second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance for the Broncos and Mid-American Conference record 14th appearance in program history.
The Broncos and Boilermakers will play their first round match Thursday, December 5 at 6:30 pm.
The other first-round matchup in West Lafayette features the No. 5 seed BYU taking on Loyola Chicago. The winners of the first-round contests then square off the following day for a berth in the Sweet Sixteen.
Western Michigan went 20-12 during the regular season and finished tied for third in the MAC standings at 13-5. As the No. 4 seed at the Mid-American Conference Championship, the Broncos won three matches in three days over No. 5 Buffalo, No. 1 Bowling Green and No. 3 Ball State to capture their second consecutive MAC Tournament title and second straight NCAA Tournament berth.
