PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Portage officials say they hope to have their new Farmers Market open sometime in the coming year.
The subcommittee working on the project is finalizing the design and will locate it next to the Senior Center behind the Dairy Queen on East Centre Avenue.
Councilmember Nicole Miller sits on the committee.
Mayor Patricia Randall says they could be delayed if their plan for the new facility doesn’t match the money they have allocated for construction.
They have approved $2-million for the project, most of it coming from a state grant.
