PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Facing an ongoing shortage of bus drivers, Paw Paw Public Schools hired has Michigan Educational Transportation Services to provide transportation staffing assistance.
School officials say effective immediately, the METS staffing team will begin working with the school’s transportation department to hire temporary substitute drivers on an as-needed basis.
“Like other districts, the ongoing shortage of bus drivers is something we are working hard to resolve,” said PPPS Superintendent Jeremy Davison. “While there is no quick fix, we are optimistic that through our new partnership with METS we will be in a better position to cover routes and provide transportation for our students.”
“Going forward, our hope is that through our partnership with METS, this will help ease the burden for our staff and send a strong signal to our families that we are looking for innovative ways to provide safe and reliable transportation for our students.”
