KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -A Kalamazoo man has been found guilty of selling fentanyl to a victim who later overdosed.
39-year-old Antjuan Pierre Jackson was convicted in federal court in Kalamazoo Tuesday of distributing fentanyl causing death and possession of 40 grams or more of fentanyl with intent to distribute.
U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Mark Totten says November 23, 2022 Jackson sold fentanyl to a victim who died from an overdose. Less than three weeks later, investigators found him with over 80 grams of fentanyl in his home as well as cash, a digital scale, cell phone and packaging materials, according to evidence presented at trial.
In a release, Totten called those pieces of evidence “all the hallmarks of drug trafficking.”
Jackson will be sentenced February 27, 2025.
