KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – While roadwork for the 2024 construction season is wrapping, City of Kalamazoo officials are looking for more public input on another major street project.
A virtual town hall meeting on the Streets For All redesign of Michigan Avenue into a two way street will be held this Thursday, November 14 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

There will be another open house to learn about the progress of the Michigan Avenue design and projects in the upcoming construction season Thursday, December 5 at the Kalamazoo Nonprofit Advocacy Coalition (Level 2 Performance Hall), 315 West Michigan Avenue from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
While work continues on Westnedge Avenue, city officials say the intersection at Howard Street has been reopened.
Whites Road has also been repainted and work is wrapping up. In addition to a repaved surface, the city says Whites Road now also has a safer lane configuration with bike lanes, new water main under the street, a reconstructed intersection at Bronson Blvd with new pedestrian signals and accessible ramps, new signals at Westnedge and Whites, and improved sidewalks.
